Group for Neuroendocrinology 

 

This cross-disciplinary research group links neuroendocrinology, hematology and immunology. The main areas of research are:

•             Cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying erythropoietic response to chronic psychological stress with special emphasis on role of glucocorticoids, macrophage migration inhibitory factor and nitric oxide

•             Possible role of nitric oxide in the effects of alcohol as a stressor on adrenal gland as well as on mucosal immune system of gastrointestinal tract

•             Appearance, localization, density of endocrine cells in human stomach and pancreas during prenatal and early postnatal development with special focus on ghrelin cells
